Inspiration everywhere
The sweetest, most delicious apricots I have ever tasted. Neighborhood sounds of classical violin practice and jazz piano. Narrow, windy streets and alleyways that become busier as the evenings get cooler. The Georgian people's obvious love of wine and music. Their desire to preserve the beautiful, historic architecture of Tbilisi. A relaxed, carefree attitude uncharacteristic of most big cities. There is much here to inspire any writer. Between negotiating everyday tasks in an unfamiliar environment and attending readings and tours by local writers and historians, acclimating to the heat and altitude, there has not been too much time yet for personal writing, but the wealth of experiences in a short couple of days is percolating in the background and will likely show up eventually in some poems.
